This film explores the theme of a master (employer) - servant (domestic worker) relationship and the ‘Sunday’ Christian living of a Singaporean family. Yati is an Indonesian lady, who traveled to Singapore to work as a domestic helper. She was filled with hope and the promises of a good life in Singapore but to her disappointment and despair, she finds that her Christian employer, Ivy is really not much different from a slave master. From her first day of employment, Yati was repeatedly bullied by Ivy, but with a longing of salvation, Yati begins to find solace in Joan, Ivy’s daughter. Through Joan’s encouragement, Bible reading and prayer, Yati manage to stay strong and forgiving.
